Torneos and opens in Seville 17

The Seville year has a few fixed points. In January the Abierto Internacional Ciudad de Sevilla is played at the FIBES conference centre, and the Olimpiada Interescolar brings school teams to the same building. The team championship of Sevilla starts in late January and runs through the winter in several divisions, and a Copa de Sevilla por Equipos carries the date 12 October 2026. In September the Escuela Sevillana de Ajedrez holds a night tournament in the Patio del Cortijo of the Parque del Alamillo, and November brings El Trebejo Solidario, played in the same patio in 2025.

Beyond the city each town keeps its own date: Pilas in March, Utrera in May, Gines at the end of June, Brenes in August, Los Palacios y Villafranca in October; the latest open found in Camas was in April 2025. The Diputación runs a provincial youth circuit, and the Circuito Urbano de Blitz has a card of its own besides those of the bars that host it.
